Zoom – Important Changes for Spring Semester
Information Technology at Purdue (ITaP) has newly implemented improvements in Zoom integration and support for the Spring 2021 semester. The following are highlights to consider:
- FY21 (through June 30th, 2021) Zoom license costs are being paid by University COVID-19 funds.
- All Faculty, Staff and Students have access to the education-level licenses (24 hour, 300 participant limits)
- The time intensive, form-based license request process has been eliminated in lieu of the automation below.
- Add-on services remain available for those that need longer meeting times or higher participant totals and can be requested and procured through the ITaP Customer Service Center (CSC) at itap@purdue.edu or by calling 765-494-4000.
Key tactical information that will help you navigate changes in the look and feel of Zoom is as follows:
- A new license is issued automatically by logging in at purdue-edu.zoom.us and choosing the “Login with BoilerKey” buttonn (existing users use same button for login).
- If an account has previously been set up with a vanity or alias email address that is not your <Purdue Career Account Login>@purdue.edu,: Locate the “How do I log in if I set up Zoom using a vanity Purdue email address.”

ITaP and our regional campus IT partners are collaborating on these types of initiatives to continuously improve the experience of our technology to customers.
